What we test, and what we will not ship

Certifications are the floor, not the point. Here is the full list — plus the failures we refuse to sell.

🔌

Electronics

Every powered product carries FCC (US), CE and UKCA marking. Batteries are UN38.3 tested and shipped at under 30% state of charge, which is why they arrive with a partial charge rather than a dead one.

Materials in contact with pets

Feather heads, silicone casings, fountain housings and bag film are tested to food-contact standards. No BPA, no phthalates, no recycled-content shortcuts in anything a pet chews.

The test protocol

Each new SKU runs this before a single unit is sold. It takes about eleven weeks.

24 h burn-in

Every unit cycles continuously for a full day. Roughly 3% fail and are scrapped, not reworked.

Drop & chew

1.2 m drop onto tile, then 200 cycles of a simulated canine bite at 180 N.

Household trial

20 households, 30 days, mixed ages and temperaments. Anything abandoned by week two is redesigned.

Six-month retest

Units from the first production run come back for wear inspection. Failure rate above 2% halts the line.

What we will not ship

  • Anything that needs a subscription to keep working. If a feature stops the day you stop paying, that is a rental, not a product.
  • Laser toys without a physical reward. They trigger the hunt sequence and never resolve it, which is measurably worse for anxious cats.
  • Collars with a built-in locking buckle. Cats hang. Every collar we sell is breakaway.
  • Cameras that require cloud storage to record. Local microSD or nothing.
  • Scented litters and "calming" sprays with undisclosed ingredients. Not our category, but people ask.
